THE BIBLE: IS IT COMPLETE, OR A COMPLETE LIE?

THE BIBLE: IS IT COMPLETE, OR A COMPLETE LIE?

The Word of God claims to be complete.  “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works” (2 Tim. 3:16-17).  If this assertion is so, then God’s revelation to man was completed by the close of the first century and additions to the Bible are repulsive to God.

Yet, men and women continually claim to receive revelations from God apart from the Bible.  Some say that God talks to them through dreams.  Others, claiming to be prophets of God, have started various modern-day religions based upon new revelations.  These revelations were supposedly given specifically unto them (such as Joseph Smith, a “prophet” of the Mormons).

The Bible is either the complete revelation of God to man or it is not.  It claims to be complete.  Therefore, if the Word of God was not complete before the days of modern “prophets” the Bible is a lie and should be burned, not revered.
